Must See in Santa Fe, Colombia | Puente de Occidente | Oldest Suspension Bridge

Описание к видео Must See in Santa Fe, Colombia | Puente de Occidente | Oldest Suspension Bridge

Lightning bolts could be seen in the distance, and were heard threatening our every step, but that didn’t stop us from checking out the Puente de Occidente (Bridge of the West). When first built it was the longest suspension bridge in Latin America and was directly inspired by the iconic Brooklyn Bridge.

This bridge is now the oldest suspension bridge in Colombia and is located just a 15 minute drive from Santa Fe’s town square. The bridge was designed by engineer José María Villa, who had previously worked on the Brooklyn Bridge, and he used that previous experience to design and construct this bridge.

Take a tuk tuk to the bridge and enjoy a quick drive over the bridge before exploring it on foot.
