LNER A4 Class loco no. 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley made a much anticipated return to Devon whilst the Red Arrows were in action at the Teignmouth Airshow. The first tour was the English Riviera Express to Paignton hauled by Sir Nigel Gresley and with the weather looking mixed, I was hoping for some good form from the A4, and she didn't disappoint.

I've got three shots of Sir Nigel Gresley the first one was at Whiteball Summit near Burlescombe as Sir Nigel Gresley stormed up Whiteball Bank without any trouble, sounding amazing with a lovely A4 whistle being the added bonus. The next shot took me along the Teign Estuary at Combeinteignhead just before Teignmouth to see the A4 accelerating towards Newton Abbot along the brilliant Teign Estuary. It was by far my best shot of the day, as the engine can be seen from a distance and could be seen for a while. I'll go back there again no doubt about that. My final shot was at Noss Marina near Kingswear to see Sir Nigel Gresley climbing up Churston Bank towards Paignton through the woods as her amazing A4 exhaust chatter echoed through.

The bonus of the day was of course, The Red Arrows taking part in the Teignmouth Airshow and they appeared half an hour after Sir Nigel Gresley at Teignmouth, they arrived just after 1pm along the Teign Estuary which was lovely and they'll be seen from the distance towards the sea wall and promenade. I decided to stay at the same spot and get a couple of shots of the Red Arrows doing their usual formations and routines.
