Walt Disney's Childhood Home, School & Laugh-O-Gram Studio

Описание к видео Walt Disney's Childhood Home, School & Laugh-O-Gram Studio

Jeff and his son visited the Kansas City childhood home of Walt Disney and his elementary school just two blocks away. Young Walt Disney arrived with his family in Kansas City in 1911 from Marceline, Mo., after his father's farming ventures failed. What drew Elias Disney to Kansas City was the opportunity of obtaining a newspaper route for him and his boys, Walt and Roy.

This episode shows the garage where Walt toyed with animation with use of a loaned camera.

Jeff also visits the street corner where Walt had a soda stand and the brick building where Walt set up his Laugh-O-Gram Studios. We'll show the Union Station familiar to Walt (and where he took weekly showers), and the Kirk Building where Walt worked for the Kansas City Slide Company and learned the art of animation.
