A bold 'Step Forward' for NorQuest College
New brand identity celebrates students, educational leadership

Inclusive. Student-centred. Relevant and necessary. Catalyzing. Exciting. Confident. Progressive. Professional.

EDMONTON -- You have to be different to make a difference.
To celebrate its unique role in Alberta's post-secondary system, NorQuest College launched a new brand identity that honours past successes, recognizes current achievements and steps forward into the future. The new brand was unveiled at the College's main campus on October 18, 2012.
"The new brand tells the NorQuest College story ... our students' story. An incredible 95 per cent of our graduates are employed or enrolled in further education," says Dr. Jodi L. Abbott, President and CEO, NorQuest College.
The new brand's 'Step Forward' call to action inspires students and the community to take advantage of everything NorQuest College offers. NorQuest College programs are student-centred and workforce relevant.
"NorQuest College graduates are ready to meet Alberta's workforce needs with meaningful and rewarding careers in health, community studies and business," says Abbott.
Reflecting Alberta's growing cultural inclusiveness, the new brand identity recognizes NorQuest College's diverse student population as one of its core strengths:
• 55 per of students born outside of Canada, representing 87 countries
• 9 per cent self-identified Aboriginal, Métis or Inuit ancestry
• 80 per cent female
"Our students make us what we are, they make us unique," Abbott says.
Abbott adds that the NorQuest College brand identity is much more than a logo. "NorQuest College's new brand is the essence of who we are and who we need to be. By providing students with an education they can depend on today, tomorrow and in the months and years to come, we help guarantee a strong future for all of Alberta."

Workforce relevant
The new brand identity celebrates NorQuest College's ongoing focus on workforce development, workforce advancement and customer value. This focus ensures our program offerings are student-centred and workforce relevant. This includes the College's Practical Nurse diploma and Health Care Aide certificate programs, which are among the largest of their kind in Canada.
New website
In conjunction with the launch of the new brand, NorQuest College also launched its new website. The updated website (norquest.ca) centralizes all public College information. It is student-centred, easy to use and reinforces the College's brand identity.
Brand identity development
NorQuest College worked jointly with Stormy Lake Consulting and world-renowned brand experts Entro G + A to develop the brand strategy. The brand identity was developed in consultation with hundreds of individuals including NorQuest students and alumni, the Board of Governors, College Executive, faculty, staff, donors, business and industry partners, government and the general public.
