Have you thought about using Jenny Phillips' The Good and the Beautiful curriculum as a secular homeschooler? I've been drawn to TGTB's beautifully simple layout for language arts, and I'm incorporating it into the homeschool language arts curriculum for my rising 3rd grader, senior K/1st-grader, and pre-schooler for next year. My kids will be turning 9, 6, and 4 in the fall, and they'll be using Levels 3, 1, and Primer K, respectively.
