To everyone’s surprise, J Cole tweeted out his album mysteriously named “KOD” last week to drop on smoke weed everyday day.

Dealing with issues of addiction, drug glorification, and the mainstream rap world as we know it, Cole sends your mind on a whirlwind of possible explanations and plenty of discussion. This album has reminded me why I love music so much, because within hours of its release it has sparked a lot of debate between its concepts being either too simple or secretly complex. I let this album ask things of me and understood what I wanted on my own terms with each track, and it was just as rewarding as when I notoriously theorized DAMN.

This album spoke to me on a lot of levels. Cole really made art with this one.
