This is a traditional dance performed by elderly women only. It is part of a cult dance of the gulewamkulu (nyau) and is performed at different occasions; funerals, celebrations and during festivities. This was recorded by Joab Frank Chakhaza in Dowa, Chakhaza village, Traditional Authority Mzunga during the funeral ceremony of his grandmother.
