Alaska Road Trip - Day 10: Athabasca Falls, Pyramid Island, and Pocahontas Mine

On day 10 of our Alaska road trip, we hike Athabasca Falls, Pyramid Island, and the Pocahontas Mine trails in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada.

After hiking the Athabasca Falls trail, we set out to hike the Path of the Glacier trail, only to find the road to the trailhead is closed.

During our Pyramid Island hike, we help a couple from Louisiana identify wildlife sounds and chat about our trips and what wildlife we've seen in the area.

After hiking the Pyramid Island trail, we head back to camp for some lunch and look for an alternate hike to make up for the one we couldn't get to. Then we head into Jasper after realizing we need a card reader to backup photos and videos and clear some space on the memory cards of our cameras. While in Jasper we decide to pick up a few groceries before heading to the Pocahontas Mine trail.

On the way to the Pocahontas Mine trail, we stop and take a look at Punchbowl Falls.

Back at Whistler's Campground in the evening, Raeleen gets chased by an Elk on her way back to the campsite from the shower!
