《Listen to the sea》is a famous pop song both in Taiwan and China, composed by Taiwanese music producer Michael Tu(涂惠元) and lyric written by lyricist Eric Lin (林秋離), sang by well-known pop song singer A-Mei(張惠妹)。 This song was shortlisted for the Best Composer Award at the 9th Golden Melody Awards in 1998, and also won the Music Association Award MUST AWARD in 1999.

Originally, when Eric Lin created this song, he wanted to convey the emotional view of modern women that "dare to love, dare to hate and love rationally." it doesn't matter that we broke up, but I really want to know how you felt when we broke up. "So when the original singer A-Mei sang, there was no doubt that you can clearly outline the image of a woman facing the intersection of emotional breakup.

The lyric translated into English as follows:
“Write me and tell me what color the sea is today.
What's the mood of the sea with you every night
The gray color is not want to say, blue is depressed and sad,
Where does your wandering heart take a break?

Write me and tell me what you want to dream about tonight?
Whether I stay in the dream makes you have no choice.
