National Anthem of Northern Ireland (unofficial): Londonderry Air (Danny Boy)

The "Londonderry Air" is an Irish air that originated in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It serves unofficially as the regional anthem of Northern Ireland. The tune is played as the victory sporting anthem of Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Games. The song "Danny Boy" uses the tune, with a set of lyrics written in the early 20th century.

FRANÇAIS : The Londonderry Air est un air traditionnel irlandais collecté au milieu du XIXe siècle par Jane Ross, à Limavady dans le comté de Londonderry et publié par George Petrie en 1855 dans son recueil "Ancient Music of Ireland". Cette mélodie populaire au sein de la diaspora irlandaise est également utilisée par l'Irlande du Nord comme hymne avant certaines compétitions sportives (comme aux Jeux du Commonwealth).
Les paroles les plus célèbres de cette mélodie sont Danny Boy composés en 1910 par un avocat anglais, Frederic Edward Weatherly (1848-1929).
