Description: This workshop will provide an overview of cortical visual impairment (CVI) and some ways to adapt materials for students in the classroom. It will focus on the characteristics of cortical visual impairment and how they manifest across the different phases of CVI as well as different strategies for helping students to use their vision. Sample accommodations and modifications that can help students with CVI access educational materials will also be discussed.

Paige Bradford is a doctoral candidate at The George Washington University pursuing an Ed.D. in special education. Paige's work focuses on inclusion for students with complex learning needs. She currently works as a special education teacher for the Arlington Public Schools and has a background in deaf-blindness and cortical visual impairment (CVI).
