Narcissists are extremely confident in their abilities. Their confidence can lead us to believe that they must be competent. But in effect, narcissists are often highly incompetent.

Until we understand the Dunning Kruger effect, narcissists' confidence can trick us into overlooking their incompetence. This can be awfully dangerous if we rely on them to do anything, whether reading a map, or managing finances.

Remember to observe facts and actions. If things don't add up, perhaps they simply make no sense...
