Nashville Chopin Competition interviews: Ethan Loch

This video is part of a series of interviews that I did at the Nashville International Chopin Piano Competition in Nashville, Tennessee, on October 14–15, 2023.

In this video, I interview Ethan Loch, 19, winner of second prize in the Artist division (ages 16–22), as well as the Audience Choice award tied with Elisey Mysin, and the Best Polonaise award. Ethan is a blind pianist and composer from Scotland, and represented the UK. He played Chopin’s Scherzo no. 4, Etudes op. 10 no. 4 and op. 25 no. 11, Polonaise op. 44, Nocturne op. 15 no. 2, Mazurka op. 7 no. 1, and Ballade no. 4, as well as the commissioned piece, Nashville Nocturne by Ashot Ariyan.
