At Wright Orthodontics, you have two treatment options when it comes to moving the teeth.

The first is braces. Braces are a type of orthodontic appliance that is used to straighten the teeth. Dr. Marc S. Wright may include other types of appliances, such as headgear, to be used in conjunction with your braces. Braces work by placing pressure on the teeth to promote movement and realignment. In order for the treatment to produce the desired results, you will come in for adjustments to the braces. This typically involves making adjustment to the wires to ensure that a consistent pressure is placed on the teeth.

The other option is aligners, and at Wright Orthodontics, we use the Invisalign® brand. Invisalign® is one of the most popular alternatives to traditional metal braces. The system is comprised of clear aligners that fit over your teeth. Every two weeks, you use the next aligner in the series. Each aligner moves your teeth slightly until the desired position is achieved.

Is one treatment better than the other? Not necessarily. In some cases, braces might be the best option. But in most cases, whatever braces can do, we can get it done with aligners! The difference is that the aligners require compliance from the patient, so it's largely up to them whether the treatment progresses as expected.
