"Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Throne of Creation"

This is a cover of Battle ~Humans, Demons, And...~ by Ryota Kozuka from Shin Megami Tensei V & Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. I have remade the track in the style of Shoji Meguro's rock battle tracks around the PS2 era of SMT games, as if Shin Megami Tensei V released on the PS2 in the mid to late 2000s.

This is by far the most requested track I have gotten to cover, so here it is at long last! What I initially thought would turn out to be quite tricky to cover actually ended up being not too bad. This track is FULL of intensity, great melodies and countermelodies, just like a Meguro battle track. The guitars from the original are here in trademark PS2 Shoji Meguro tone. I moved the vocal melody to trumpet which gives the track more of a Raidou feel, alongside the organ during the first section. I decided that the synth bells in the beginning of the track are a little too iconic to change, so I've kept them relatively similar. The track also features plenty of white noise and various samples, which while aren't very Meguro, help to fill out the mix and maintain its identity.

I'll never forget getting SMT V on launch day and setting the controller down for a couple minutes during the TUTORIAL fight. Kozuka has a golden touch, and this track is definitive proof of it.

I plan to cover the new battle theme from Persona 3 Reload: The Answer - "Don't" next, so stay tuned.
