Former Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin is returning to Korea after 10 years in Major League Baseball.
Ryu's former club in the KBO, the Hanwha Eagles, announced his return on Thursday.
He's signed an eight-year contract worth 17 billion Korean won, which is around 12-point-8-million U.S. dollars.
With this, he has become the highest-paid player in the league's history.
The 36-year-old started his professional baseball career with the Daejeon-based Eagles in 2006 and played for the team for seven seasons before signing with the LA Dodgers.
