20th of August is Hungary's national holiday and official state holiday commemorating the founding of the state and the state founder King István I. (Saint). The day is also one of the main holidays of the Hungarian Catholic Church - held in honor of the patron saint of Hungary.

The memory of Saint István has played a role in Hungarian history since the canonization of the founding king on 20th of August 1083.

The Promenade of Cities is an installation that displays the flags of 346 Hungarian cities. In addition to the flags, information totems about all the counties, Budapest and the country present the diversity of the country. The exhibition also includes Hungary's cities across the border, which are displayed on a common totem.

On 23rd of January, 1945, the train set of the golden train set off for Austria from the Fertőboz railway station. The Szálasi government tried to flee the 30 tons of gold reserves of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, large amounts of foreign exchange reserves, as well as deposited valuables and documents (for example, the corvinas of King Mátyás), and the platinum bar of the meter standard to the West from the advancing Soviet Red Army.

On June 18-25, 1946, at the meeting of the delegation led by Prime Minister Ferenc Nagy in Washington, it was decided to return the MNB's gold stock and other valuables and art treasures, and on June 21, the US State Department officially announced this. On August 6, 1946, part of the spoils of war arrived back in Budapest.

For lovers of Hungarian flavors and folk traditions, the annual Csárda Festival is an unmissable program, where guests can not only enjoy their favorite Hungarian dishes, but also participate in authentic folk dance performances and folk music concerts.
