On Friday, September 27th, 2024, former Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 4-8-4 #2926 set out from its home at New Mexico Heritage Rail to the Railyards in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a weekend of display and photo shoots. We spent some time this past weekend documenting the moves and #2926's stay at the Railyards. On the 29th, #2926 went back to its home on 8th Street and putting on a splendid show with smoke, steam, and plenty of whistle. We like to once again congratulate New Mexico Heritage Rail, the proud owners and operators of this massive Northern, for their achievements and keeping this impressive locomotive operational and I highly encourage donating to their cause to keep it operational and potentially have the locomotive operate public excursion trains on the mainline.
