The series on ancient swords tracing the origins of Japanese swords finally reaches its conclusion!? With the round-headed sword (entō tachi) excavated from an ancient tomb, you can appreciate the delicacy and splendor of the metalworking techniques of ancient people. After absorbing various techniques from bronze swords, continental straight swords (chokutō), Himiko's five-shaku sword, and the ornate pommels decorating straight swords, we see the emergence of the Japanese-made sword with a vertebra-shaped pommel (tōsui tachi).
