December 2024 Salon Meet & Greet

We had a fantastic time at the AI Salon Meet & Greet this month, celebrating two whole years of curiosity, playfulness, empathy, bravery, and generosity. Leah Fasten and Kyle Shannon, our co-founders, kicked things off by reflecting on the journey so far and what makes the Salon such a unique and vibrant community.

Kyle also brought us up to speed on OpenAI's “12 Days of Shipmas,” spotlighting shiny new tools like the advanced reasoning engine, reinforcement fine-tuning, and the impressive Sora video model. Not to be outdone, Google made some bold moves with announcements like NotebookLM, Wisk, Gemini 2.0 Flash, and Imagen 3. It’s an exhilarating time for AI, and we’re here for it!

The real magic, though, came from you - our amazing community. Members shared their personal AI journeys, swapping stories about how AI has reshaped their work, sparked creativity, and even transformed their lives.

We wrapped things up with a shared commitment to keep the momentum going. The future of AI is bright, and it’s even brighter when we explore it together. Here's to another year of learning, growing, and having fun in the Salon!
