Dynasty Warriors 8: XL CE - Shu Story Mode 9 - Battle of Fan Castle (Ultimate)

Fan Castle goes a bit differently for Shu, as they end up being the ones hit by the flood attack. Not sure how that happened since Guan Yu was suppose to have already flooded the castle but whatever. You start to retreat like immediately and end up taking out most the enemies as you do, meeting Wu along the way. Does make me laugh how Ma Chao shows up and just goes "ew, mud" and doesn't move from his spot.

The cutscene at the end with Liu Bei learning of Guan Yu's death isn't as near as impactful as in DW7 this time around. To be fair most things are like that in this game, but that was a really good scene in DW7 that they just sort of failed to recreate.

Also finally played as Guan Yu. He's pretty much a power house, with lots of damage and range. He's a bit on the slow side but not too bad. His musous ignore blocking and deal a lot of damage, he has a good buff for his EX as well. He's the worst type though, he's one of those that can press X to backstep when being hit which means his type offers nothing useful offensively.
