A series documenting my build to the Black Canyon 100K ultra trail race. I hope you enjoy Episode Three.

The Black Canyon 100K is a trail running race that has a rich history, from its origins as a Native American pathway to its current status as one of the worlds premier 100K events.

The first Black Canyon 100K was run in 2014, with 42 finishers and a winning time of over 10 hours. The race has since become a premier event, with a course record of 7:52:26.

The Black Canyon 100K is a point-to-point race that takes place on the Black Canyon National Recreation Trail. The race is part of the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors and is a qualifier for the Western States 100.

The race starts at Mayer High School in Spring Valley and finishes at the Emery Henderson Trailhead near New River. The route crosses the Agua Fria River multiple times and takes runners through Black Canyon.
