Sometimes you're just blown away by a model railway and that is certainly the case with James Street. This amazing N Gauge layout takes railway modelling to a whole new level by depicting what feels like an entire city. The layout features multiple stations, huge siding areas and even a dockyard. Even more impressive is the lack of a fiddle yard so all the trains are held in realistic marshalling yards.

There's certainly plenty to look at and with trains constantly running past at a wonderfully realistic pace, James Street really does give a fantastic sense of a busy railway somewhere in the Midlands during the late 50s and early 60s!

James Street was filmed at The London Festival of Railway Modelling at Alexandra Palace in 2023.
