Canvas: 16x20 stretched primed canvas Brushes: 1/2 flat bristle (large), #8 round (medium), #1 round (small)
Acrylic Paint: titanium white, mars black, deep yellow, burnt umber (brown), fire red, violet purple
Other: #2 pencil, palette, cup of water for washing brushes, paper towel for drying brushes

STEPS:
1. #2 pencil – Draw outline of paper
2. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint background with brown, purple and white
3. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint 1st layer of paper with yellow, brown and white
4. #8 round brush - Paint 1st layer of inkwell with black
5. #8 round brush - Paint shadows of paper on surface with black and brown
6. #1 round brush - Paint ripped paper edges wit purple, brown, tan and black
7. #8 round brush - Paint shadow on paper with brown and tan
8. #8 round brush - Paint highlights on paper with white and tan
9. #1 round brush - Paint 1st layer of pen with black
10. #1 round brush - Finish inkwell, pen handle and inkwell shadow with black, brown and white
11. #8 round brush - Paint shadow of inkwell and feather onto paper with black and brown
12. #8 round brush - Finish feather part of pen with red, yellow, white and brown
13. #1 round brush - Paint message on paper with black
14. #1 round brush - Sign with black
