Former Labor senator Graham Richardson believes the next federal election will “not be easy to win” for Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

The Prime Minister is defending his government’s policies after facing criticism from big business.

The Business Council of Australia has launched an attack on the Albanese government over industrial relations laws, regulations and taxes.

“The problem is, whenever he goes [to an election], there are problems,” Mr Richardson told Sky News host Sharri Markson.

“I think he was looking for a sweet spot; it’s not going to come.

“He’s got to face up to an election that will not be easy to win.”
