Crestone Needle 14,203' Summit via Ellingwood Arete, Class 5! Standard Route descent, with beta

Описание к видео Crestone Needle 14,203' Summit via Ellingwood Arete, Class 5! Standard Route descent, with beta

This is an Advanced Technical Hiking and Rock Climbing Adventure to the 14,203' Crestone Needle summit in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains of Colorado. It entailed a long steep Class 4 scramble and two roped climbing pitches up to 5.7 on the Ellingwood Arete. We used the standard route for our descent down to broken hand pass and back to the Colony Lakes trail. It was below freezing and shadowed for the entire rock climbing portion of the adventure adding to the difficulty. This mountain climbing route is very committing and should only be attempted with proper experience, training and in reliably clear weather conditions!
