Under the Piano (1996) - Clips

Watch Ms. follows play an autistic-savant, Rosetta Basilio, the real-life inspiration for the iconic fictional character "Rainman". This was a daring role for Ms. Follows, especially given the unavoidable comparisons with the famous movie and performance. I found the relationship between Rosetta and her sister, played by the wonderful Amanda Plummer, to be the real heart of the piece and gave it its own distinctive feel. The mother, played by Teresa Stratas, won a Gemini Award for the complex role of Rosetta's mother. I liked this movie very much. My only complaint was that it was too short.

This movie is available on DVD and on Sullivan Entertainment's Gazebo TV service. There is very rough copy on YouTube with Spanish captions, but in English.
