Shaping Modern Day

This month it is the Caucasus Through Time Network's greatest pleasure to host its first Anthropology Seminar, showcasing the fascinating work of PhD researchers: Alexander Kavtaradze, Mariam Shalvashvili, Dato Laghidze and Esma Berikishvili, Ilia State University. Our speakers, through their individual case studies dealing with issues of Georgian identity formation, perception and marginalisation as well as with discourses of (soviet) space transformations, privatization, gentrification and modernization will examine the complex web of socio-cultural and political dynamics underpinning modern day Georgia.
