EXPLORING an 18th Century Scottish Village

Описание к видео EXPLORING an 18th Century Scottish Village

Gifford is a small village in East Lothian built in the 18th century. Join me as I take a walk around this lovely village with stone cottages, green spaces, an impressive village hall and an early 18th century church.

Gifford is perhaps most famous for Yester Castle and its "Goblin Ha'" which legend says was built by Hobgoblins! Legend has it that Hugo de Giffard (nicknamed the Wizard of Yester) entered into a pact with the devil and was granted an army of Goblins to do his bidding. It was believed that these Goblins built Yester Castle and its impressive underground chamber where Giffard practiced his sorcery. It's believed to be one of the most spooky and haunted places in Scotland - one for another video perhaps!
