How To Install A Shop Vac Filter Bag

If you have a wet/dry vacuum (aka a shop vac) you might have to clean up some really fine, dry dust. If so, you should use the dust collection bag, also know as the filter bag. If you are trying to figure out how to install test things, this video will show you how to install it and make sure it stays in place for the life of the bag.

I'm using official Craftsman filter bags with this 12-gallon Craftsman CMXEVBE17594 shop vac, which you can buy here all over the place. Many companies sell generic bags which are mostly ok, though quality can vary.

Just make sure to size the filter bag to the size of your vacuum! So a 12-gallon sized dust bag for your 12-gallon vac, otherwise you'll be changing them all the time!
