Paris-Brest-Paris 2023 - What went wrong?

After months of training, qualification, and trying to negotiate the awful website the day had finally arrived.

1200km, from Paris to the coastal town of Brest, and back. One of the oldest cycling events in the World. My aim will be a fast finish, with a start in Group A, at the very front.

The event is not a race, there is no podium, and no prizes. Unlike some (maybe all?) other audax events, PBP does give riders times, and the 80hr time limit riders are not subject to a maximum speed limit.

Qualifying requires riding several distances, with my previous qualifications that all need to be done before you can enter properly and take a place at the start:
