I'm heading to Paris - 600km Audax Completed

AU PIED DE COCHON - FRUITS DE MER 600km BRM qualifier

One big challenge for 2023 will be taking on the Paris-Brest-Paris Audax event.

1200km, from Paris to the coastal town of Brest, and back. One of the oldest cycling events in the World.

My aim will be a fast finish, with a start at the very front, and this diary will go through the qualification, training, and audax tips and guides.

To be able to start, first I need to complete qualifying rides over 200km, 300km, 400km, and 600km distances.

After a few disappointing challenges and events, this would realistically be my final attempt to qualify with time and travel constraints likely to prevent any future qualification options. The AU PIED DE COCHON - FRUITS DE MER is a 600km event that starts and finishes in Cardiff, using a figure of 8 route and this gives the option to complete over two days, stopping at the halfway mark.

Far from being a straightforward attempt, multiple things along the way almost made the attempt a failure.
