Mega Man X8 - Burn Rooster

And now we have a most autoscroller level. You're constantly descending from platform to platform avoiding the top and very bottom of the screen. Getting crushed from the top doesn't kill you, but it does a lot of damage. The bottom however, is an instant kill. Halfway through, there's some traditional platforming with a whole bunch of spikes littered throughout. We also have our first encounter with Vile, who will show up at random stages to try to ruin your day.

At the bottom awaits Burn Rooster. His thing is that the more you hit him, the stronger his attacks get until get goes Super Saiyan Blue on you. You can power him down by using breaking attacks, or his weakness. His overdrive has him cover both walls in flames, limiting your movement severely. After beating him, though, we have an escape sequence where we need to head to the mouth of the volcano to escape the lava before we can teleport out. __
