Aligned Puff Stitch (Sampler Granny Square Blanket Pt. 16)

Here is the sixteenth video for the Sampler Granny Square Blanket. This blanket will consist of 16 different squares with a minimum of 3 colors. Each square will be a different video so no need to rush. I will also have a video on how to sew the blanket together and put a border around the whole blanket.

Written instructions for the Aligned Puff Stitch

Puff Stitch: (Yarn over, insert hook in chain 1 space and pull up a loop even with hook) 4 times, Yarn over and draw through all 9 loops on hook, chain 1 to close.

With your color of choice: Ch. 26 loosely.

Row 1: Single crochet in second chain from hook, ** chain 1, skip next chain, single crochet in next chain; repeat from ** across: 25 stitches.

Row 2: Chain 2, turn; work Puff stitch in next chain 1 space as follows: (Yarn over, insert hook in chain 1 space and pull up a loop even with hook) 4 times, Yarn over and draw through all 9 loops on hook, chain 1 to close. ** work Puff Stitch in next chain 1 space; repeat from ** across, half double crochet in last single crochet: 12 Puff stitches.

Row 3: Chain 1, turn; single crochet in first half double crochet, chain 1, ** single crochet in next chain 1 space (between Puff stitches), chain 1; repeat from ** across, single crochet in top of beginning chain: 25 stitches.

Repeat Rows 2-3 until the piece measures approximately 7 inches; do not finish off.

The Edge: Ch. 1, turn your work, 3 sc into the corner, 25 sc evenly spaced along the edge; repeat around. To join slip stitch into first beginning chain 1. Fasten off.
