What is an Event Store?

In this clip from Oskar's webinar 'Keep Your Streams Short!', he explains how an event store is more than just an append only log. In an event store, events are appended to a stream to build specific records. This might sound complicated but as Oskar explains, traditional databases are built in a similar way! Logically, event stores should be seen as a key value store. Realising this helps you understand event sourcing and get the most out of it.
