Schönburg in Tschechien_Zřícenina hradu Šumburk

Описание к видео Schönburg in Tschechien_Zřícenina hradu Šumburk

________

This mighty castle ruin was built around 1435 by the Lords of Schönburg in what is now the Czech Republic, Klášterec nad Ohří 1. I couldn't get any closer than 3.5 km to the castle by car, which was a real challenge in 29 degrees and high humidity due to an approaching thunderstorm. Please forgive me for making the film a little longer out of a euphoric feeling. I hope you like the drone footage in almost every chapter of the film. I would be delighted to receive feedback on this.

I hope you enjoy this film.

Information about history:

In 1435, Šumburk was first mentioned as Nový Šumburk (Neuschönburg). The castle was probably founded by the Lords of Schönburg, who owned the Pürstein estate at the time.
The castle later came into the possession of the Knights of Vitzthum. They had the castle considerably expanded at the beginning of the 16th century. Extensive additions to the residential tower, a new palace, and other outbuildings were built.
Apel IV of Vitzthum ran a counterfeiting workshop in the castle. This was discovered by imperial officials in 1530 and Apel IV fled to Saxony. He was punished in 1531 with the loss of his property.
In 1542, the Lords of Schönburg bought back the castle they had built.
At the end of the 16th century, Schönburg burned down and was not rebuilt. At that time, the farmyard beneath the castle was being renovated. In 1623, the Schönburg family left the ruined complex to Christoph Simon Freiherr von Thun. Freiherr von Thun had the Meierhof, which he had acquired with the burnt-out ruins, rebuilt in the Baroque style below the castle ruins.
The Meierhof itself was first mentioned in 1512. The four-sided Meierhof also fell into ruin after 1946. It is referred to as "Alt-Schönburg" on a German-language hiking map from 1939.
The castle ruins and Meierhof remained in the possession of the von Thun and Hohenstein family until 1945.
