Frelimo's Daniel Chapo is the winner of the Mozambique presidential election. He secured 77% of the vote, compared to 23% for independent candidate Venancio Mondlane. The country was plunged into violence after demonstrators took to the streets alleging that the vote was rigged. Prof Adriano Nuvunga has been keeping an eye on the developments.
