Our Thailand adventure - travelling during rainy season with two kids - Bangkok, Krabi, Koh Lanta

Описание к видео Our Thailand adventure - travelling during rainy season with two kids - Bangkok, Krabi, Koh Lanta

Originally planned in 2020 which means we were waiting for this trip for a long time. It was all worth it though.
Despite being rainy season we had no other choice just to risk it and go during school holidays in August. We've researched and most people were saying the rain normally comes and goes in an hour or so...well, if you manage to get to the last few minutes of the video you'll get an idea of how bad it really can get!!! We were very lucky as apart from the last day of two the rain wasn't bad at all, but after we left it never stopped raining for two weeks and currently, many placed in Thailand are flooded (Sept 2023)
We've started our journey in Bangkok. We stayed in the "now formal" tallest hotel in Thailand Bayioke Sky Hotel which had some amazing views, visited Many Temples, the Grand Palace, the Reclining Buddha, the Big Buddha, the Mahanakhon Sky Walk, Floating Markets, the Icon Siam shopping centre, We've also hired a private boat for few hours to explore the canals of Bangkok.
One of our favourite dinners was on the first night right next to the main road in one of those temporary kitchens set up on a path after the shops closed.
We've enjoyed the experience but it was really intense to find our feet and navigate around crazily busy roads or Bangkok in hot and humid climate.

Our second destination was to Krabi where we flew with Thai Airways (cost us only £120 for 4 people)
Krabi was all about chilling, amazing food and drinks, stunning sunsets, exploring Hong Islands on our hired private long tail boat, Elephants Sanctuary, Hot Springs and Emerald Pools, Tiger Cave in Krabi with some cheeky monkeys adventure and of course our luxury stay at Grand Centara which felt like staying on a private paradise island ( no roads to get there, only on foot via monkey trail but there was a shuffle speed boat connection every hour connect Centara with Ao Nang)
Our favourite place to spend our evenings was Reeve Beach Club with the best sunset views, delicious food, amazing live music and every night fire show on the beach 10/10!!

Our last destination was the quiet but very beautiful Island of Koh Lanta.
We've just fancied a bit of proper chilling before we go back home.
Long Beach Chalets were such an incredible place to stay with two beachfront villas for us and our girls. Endless beaches, chill vibes, the best breakfast we've had in Thailand, Escape Caffee served coffees and cakes out of this world - seriously I wasn't expecting to have the best cup of coffee in Thailand !! Chalets were stunning with outdoor humongous showers - rain forest style, bathtubs on the verandas overlooking the beach front.
We hired scooters to explore and visited Lanta Old Town which was amazing. On the way back we were caught up in the crazy monsoon rain - which surprisingly was one of the best experiences ( at least for girls)

We absolutely loved visiting Thailand with our two girls ( 12 and 9 years old) so many incredible memories!!
