Our morning started with excitement as we were getting ready for the most awaited trip to Krangsuri waterfalls at Jowai in Meghalaya.
We started early in the morning as it was around 100 kms from the resort and would take about 4 hours to reach it.
There are 2 ways to reach Jowai - one via Shillong and another via the Shillong bypass. We selected the bypass as it saves some time.
The cool breeze and green surroundings were our constant companions on this route.
This bypass is maintained by NHAI(National Highways Authority of India) and so it was in good shape. The driver had to pay the toll tax as per guidelines.
We were hungry and stopped at the on-road local food stall. The food was yummy.

Shillong lies in the East Khasi Hills and here we enter the Jaintia hill division.
Jaintia Hills, Khasi Hills Division and Garo Hills together make the Meghalaya state.
The Jaintia Hills district was created on 22 February 1972, with Jowai being the district headquarters.

Krang Suri Waterfalls is about 30 km from Jowai.

Krangsuri Falls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Meghalaya. You can visit Krangsuri falls any time of the year as the weather is quite pleasant throughout the year.
When we visited the road was under construction to increase the width to accommodate the growing tourism in this region.
The hilly roads frequent curves and twists may add to your trip time.
We stopped to click some photos and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us.

The vast green plain, blue sky and cold breeze took away all the tiredness of the trip and brought back my smile.

The tranquil ambience and charming beauty of this place can rejuvenate your soul.
To reach the waterfall, you must hike a few steps, but the scenery and sheer beauty of the waterfall are well worth the effort.
It could be difficult for young children or the elderly. The journey down to the falls would take around 20 minutes, but it would be well worth it.

This panoramic view is amazing.

We took our ticket and life jackets, which is mandatory and went to the changing room.
Don't forget to take spare clothes as you will love to spend time in the water.
As you start approaching the waterfall, the sound of the water will pump up your excitement and the first view of the waterfall will take your breath away.
This blue water is mesmerising. This is heaven on earth.
The serene ambience and attractive beauty of this location will instantly revive your spirit.
This waterfall has a natural swimming pool to swim in and enjoy its beauty.
In every way, this location exceeds my expectations.
We took our time capturing the majority of the scene with our eyes and cameras.
Few rocky steps and we reach the spot.
We spend some wonderful time swimming, taking pictures, or simply admiring the breathtaking waterfall vista.
This was the perfect time to do a water test on my new Go Pro Action Camera.
Both of us were a little afraid to enter the water, but couldn't resist our temptation.
Everyone needs to wear a life jacket.
The water is crystal clear.
He was happy.

One can swim up to the rock behind the falls, sit and enjoy the amazing views.
In addition, as the sunlight passes down on the waterfall, rainbows generally appear.
After spending some quality time here, we climbed up to see the place where boating is done.
The boating point is at the top of the waterfall which you may skip like us if you have already done at Dawki river.
As the sun started to set, and afternoon turned into evening, we headed towards the parking place.

We said goodbye to this place and headed towards our home.
On our way home, we stopped to have our dinner and went back to Assam, my home state.
