[Synopsis]

In this video, I emulate a Intel 8086 chipset, which came in the form of various IBM compatible computers during the 1980s. Computers that used the Intel 8086 came in the form of the NEC PC-9801, Sinclair PC200, Olivetti M24, Tandy 1000 SL/2, Toshiba T1200, Vtech Laser XT3, Amstrad PC512, Amstrad PC1640, and Amstrad PC2086. Some of these computers were proprietary, like the NEC PC9801, Tandy 1000 SL/2, Sinclair PC200, but most were just IBM XT clones that could use different forms of Microsoft DOS, and off the shelf PC parts of the day.

The Amstrad PC3086 was a heavy upgraded Intel 8088 based computer. This computer was released in 1990, and it was obsolete by this time. Amstrad did release their 286 and 386 based computers in 1989 which was a bit odd. Never the less, I made this video to show off the capabilities of the Amstrad PC3086 IBM clone computer to see what kind of software it could run from the late 1980s to 1990.
