Gautam Chand Jain, the visionary and the chief promoter of Pokarna group was born on 15th August 1955. He initially started off with the business of retailing and wholesaling of Raymond fabric in 1979-80 and within a year he marked his presence and in short span of time he earned the distinction of being Raymond's top distributor in India.

Pokarna Ltd is centred on the very same ideology which was founded in the year 1991 under the vision of Mr. Gautam Chand Jain. By 2003-04 Pokarna Limited diversified into apparel manufacturing and within a span of few years established brand STANZA in the domestic market under which it commercially distributes and retails Premium Men's shirt and trousers in India. The Idea of entering into the business of engineered stone was conceived in the year 2006 and the same was realised with the setting up and operationalizing a green field project in Andhra Pradesh, which is first of its kind in India. Pokarna Limited colour palette includes over 75 varieties of granite sourced within India in addition to Saudi Arabia and Iran. Their product range includes reliant NFL Stadium, Houston, USA, Radisson Hotel, Tibel Park, Chennai India and Amaravati Buddhist Museum, Guntur India. Pokarna limited has won several laurels nationally and internationally for quality export including prominent awards such as the Rocky award for print advertising for the year 2005, fastest growing and largest granite and stone company in India by Construction World magazine and Best Export performance award by Visakhapatnam special economic zone. Pokharna Limited was also conferred "Best Mechanized Quarry award " at all level (India) by FIMI-AIGSA. Pokarna Ltd also has other group company including Quartz surfaces which manufactures facility deployed imported patented Technology namely BRESTONE SYSTEM exclusively sourced from Breton s.p.a., Italy and the Quartz products are been commercially distributed under the registered trademark of QUANTRA natural Quartz surface, both in domestic and international markets.
