Welcome to Outdoors with Geoff! Come along with me as I cook Grilled Hawaiian Chicken Wings on the Char-Griller Gravity 980! This cook has a unique flavor profile and will definitely be a crowd-pleaser!

I prefer to use whole wings when I grill just as I think it gives for a better eating experience than a party wing. I always use a base Salt, Pepper Garlic All Purpose Seasoning and an additional rub that adds another layer of flavor. For this cook I used the spices listed below.

•Fiesta Brands Garlic Pepper Seasoning
•Lane's BBQ Kapalua Hawaiian Seasoning

I thoroughly seasoned the wings with both spices and rubs and let them rest for about fifteen minutes to absorb the seasonings to maximize flavor. In the meantime, I prepared for the cook on the Char-Griller Gravity 980. I loaded up with B&B Oak Briquettes, lit the fire starter, and set the cooker to 350°. Right before the cook, I threw an extra couple of chunks of Pecan and Cherry Wood Chunks into the ash pan in addition to the chunks in the chute.

I let these wings cook for thirty minutes, and then flipped them over and let the cook for an additional forty-five minutes. At that point, they had reached an internal temperature of 165°. I then took them off the cooker to prepare for the next portion of the cook. I glazed the wings with the item listed below.

•Texas Pepper Jelly's Pineapple Habanero Rib Candy

I then placed the wings back on the cooker for the glaze to tack up for fifteen minutes.

These wings had an amazing flavor profile. The Lane's BBQ Kapalua Season added a tropical, sweet, citrusy element. The base layer from the Garlic Pepper Seasoning was prevalent and I could even visibly taste the parsley as well. And the Texas Pepper Jelly added a bit of sweet heat to the cook. This will be a repeat cook in your house if you try it!
