Wakfu OST - Xelorium [Present]

Описание к видео Wakfu OST - Xelorium [Present]

Yesterday's future is today's present, maybe, there's a lot to discuss here, but first, yeah, it's another track for present Xelorium's overworld, if you listen to this and the old one you'll quickly notice the change in speed, but it does pick up back to its original tempo in the second half, not that i know much about that, but if you look at the enemies that look like a clock swinging left to right, they used to be almost in time with the old soundtrack, now they're not for the most part.

Other than that, after 0:40 you can notice some sounds have been reduced, it's a welcomed change, sometimes instruments in this game's soundtrack are very stingy, you'll hear a beautiful theme but won't want to listen to it repeatedly because it feels like tinnitus it's gonna strike anytime. I can see how the change in tempo could improve the track a bit, but personally the old one feels better, but most faster paced songs do, so there's a bit of bias there.

Now if you've seen Dofus' future Xelorium you might be wondering, where's all the crystal clear, neon, and cyan structures that were featured there? The owl humanoid xelors that ruled that time, they should be here if Dofus' future is Wakfu's present, right?
But the thing is, that area in Dofus was called "Uncertain Future", so it could've lived up to its named and be nothing more than an idealization of what the future would've been, or just one that took place thousands of years from now, and Wakfu's present actually being just a slight follow up to its own past tells me it's not too far away from Dofus' present.

It's somewhat confusing, and it only gets weirder once you realize, there's no future Xelorium in this game, we stop at the present and the quest ends there after you encounter Xelor himself and get an artifact to travel in time, but only backwards in specific spots, go figure.

Anyway, i've talked a bit about the place in the present on the video with the old soundtrack, but i can still tell you some stuff about it despite the minor visual changes between this and the past.
Remember how Xelors in Dofus had a ton of owl association that isn't very present in this game? well, they didn't play a bigger role in the past Xelorium, but here you can see the enemies look like owls, and no wonder, because the boss for this are is Robowl, a big mechanical bird, which archmonster you can see in this video, it's the big red bird, along with the leader of the hordes, the blue Poz that resembles Sonic, it doesn't try to hide the fact either and i love it, it's silly.

And here's an important detail about the natural resources of all dimensions in Wakfu excluding Osamosa, they once were actual trees, crops, plants and fishing spots you could interact with when the dimensions were introduced.
You can spot a kama flower and tree in Enurado, a cyan flower and tree in Srambad, and in Xelorium there's 2 kinds of plants to be found in the ground, a tree that grows clocks and cogs with water in them, they were once able to be farmed and played a role in getting materials to upgrade gear pieces as usual, but an update happened after the devs realized that raising the profession levels probably wasn't the best idea and neither it was to keep them in dimensions you could only reach after a certain level, so they reverted these additions, moving things like the Hour berries and the Kama flowers to be normal world things, and the rest to be decorative plants you can put in your home.
So now they're still present in the dimensions, in random spots, growing and dissapearing at random time intervals because you can't interact with them anymore.

It's a change that didn't stood the test of time, because Osamosa wasn't affected by this due to being released several years after Xelorium and the others, the decision to not have higher level or hardly reachable resources was thrown again away and now you have lvl 140-150 professions that use resources from places like Osamosa, which you can only reach after lvl 200 on your character.
For reference, the max profession lvl at the time Xelorium was introduced was about 100, they reverted the new plants, trees and fishing spots because they wanted to keep the highest bar at lvl 100 and player lvl at lvl 200, but here we are, nowadays max level is 230 and it's probably still gonna increase, questionable decision honestly.
