#Drink Name: Sazerac

INGREDIENTS USED (IN ORDER SHOWN):
1/4 oz (7.5 ml) simple syrup
4 dashes Peychaud's bitters
1/2 oz (15 ml) cognac
1 1/2 oz (45 ml) rye whiskey
Atomizer with absinthe
Lemon peel for squeezing and garnish

EQUIPMENT USED:
Mixing glass
Bar spoon
Julep strainer
Rocks glass

INSTRUCTIONS:
Start with a mixing glass. Add the simple syrup, bitters, cognac, and rye whiskey. Add ice to the glass and stir for roughly 30 seconds or until the glass is cold to the touch. Put on your julep strainer and switch to the rocks glass. Use an atomizer to spray absinthe 3-4 times along the inner walls of the glass. You could also use about 1/4 oz of absinthe and swirl it around the glass before discarding it. Strain the mixing glass into the rocks glass. Squeeze a lemon peel over the top of the glass to express the oils into the drink and then wipe the rim with the peel. Use the peel as a garnish or discard it. Cheers!
