Ancient Seethawaka Kingdom has great historical significance and is home to many tourist attractions. People from Colombo and the other surrounding cities can visit these places easily with greater enjoyment.

The Seethawaka Odyssey train is operated almost every Sunday from Colombo Fort to Waga via the Kelani Valley route as tourist train. The main visiting locations on this tour are Kalatuwawa Reservoir, Ranmudu Ella and Seethawaka Wet Zone Botanic Garden. During the train tour, most of the people used to have fun by singing with colleagues. Food items can be purchased from the restaurant at Ranmudu Ella and Cafeteria at Seethawaka Botanic Garden including lunch packets for fair prices. Also, having a cool water bath in Ranmudu Ella during the tour is amazing.

The Labugama-Kalatuwawa Forest Reserve in the Colombo District is home to Kalatuwawa storage Reservoir which was built to supply water for domestic usage in Colombo City. One of the tanks in the Kelani Ganga basin is Kalatuwawa Reservoir. The tank receives most of its feeding from the Kalatuwawa Ela, except for drainage from its own catchment area. When the water is fully supplied, 454 acres comprise a storage capacity of 3900 million gallons. The reservoir's weir is 160 meters long and 30 meters high. The reservoir's deepest point is 20 meters.

Labugama is home to Ranmudu Ella. The waterfall is a branch of the Wakganga River and is 15 meters high. The waterfall feeds the Kelani River. Ranmudu Ella's natural bathing pool has crystal clear water in the basin pool. This waterfall combines beauty and safety, making it an ideal place to bathe. Many locals visit with their families to take in the scenery. The legend of this fall is linked to King Rajasinha 1 of Sitawaka. According to legend, the fall was named Ranmudu Ella after Rajasinha 1 lost his gold ring while bathing with his queen.

Seethawaka Wet Zone Botanic Gardens which belongs to the Department of National Botanic Gardens is established exclusively for the conservation of wet zone flora. The garden's construction began in 2008, and it opened to the public in 2015. It is located on the Puwakpitiya-Thummodara road in Illukowita, adjacent to the Indikada Mukalana Forest Reserve in Avissawella, a Colombo district suburb. Its current size is 42ha (106 acres), with 7 acres of tea plantation as part of the botanic garden. The garden is about 100 meters above mean sea level. It offers a variety of floriculture-related extension programs for flower growers, as well as educational and research opportunities for researchers. The garden is also used for photo shoots, music videos, and tele-dramas. A rose garden, fernery, viewpoint, flower-decked lake, a series of ponds, a medicinal garden, a spice garden, an orchard, a butterfly garden, a Japanese garden, and a pebble garden are all part of this garden. All paths in the garden are paved for a pleasant stroll. There are also route maps and information boards to help you cover all of the attractions. To educate the public, most trees have name and detail boards. This garden also has a diverse range of fauna, including birds, butterflies, dragonflies, and fish.
