Kepler Track NZ Nov 2023

A few years have past since visiting the South Island of NZ. After walking some of the other Great walks we decided to return and take on the Kepler.
The 60km circular track can be hiked in either direction. We decided to tackle it in an anticlockwise direction. We walked vast tussock covered ridge lines and experience alpine vistas while been hammered with snow and ice. This was then contrasted with the peaceful lakes and beech forest of the Iris Burn valley. The birds are definitely returning to the valley and all the work that the rangers and volunteers are doing to keep this process happening is showing great results. Can definitely recommend the Kepler for an experience at the coal face with the weather.
