How To Play "Somewhere" by Hendrix, Correctly - Tuned To D

Описание к видео How To Play "Somewhere" by Hendrix, Correctly - Tuned To D

This is the correct way to play this version of this song. Jimi did play it in other tunings. There are many Jimi'isms in this song. Breaking down every note gives you a little more insight into how his genius mind worked. First, tune your guitar down a whole step to D. This gives you that low D bass note that he uses several times in the song (e.g. :16 & 5:12). This song is very complex so I will have to break it into parts again. The next part will be some of the wah-wah parts. Part 3 will be the echoey solo. If I get to Part 4, that will be the last verse. All in all, I think it will be an hour or so of video for just one song. If Jimi ever repeated himself, I could cut it down to 15 minutes but he never did. What a genius.
