SYNOPSIS

Any faithful follower of Charles Schulz' Peanuts comic strip can tell you who the object of Charlie Brown's affections is. It's the little red-haired girl, much discussed, never seen. No matter how often he steels up his courage to speak to the girl, Charlie Brown is forever stymied by his bashfulness and lack of self-esteem. Coming to his rescue-or at least trying to--is hoydenish Peppermint Patty, who mistakenly assumes that Charlie Brown's amour is the dreaded fussbudget Lucy.

On the last day of school, Charlie Brown despairs over the prospect of never being able to express his affections....and then the miracle happens. (original review "Rotten Tomatoes")

THE SOUNDTRACK

As "Rotten Tomatoes" said "and then a miracle happens"!
I've been waiting for this soundtrack for years and years and years (I stopped counting). And just when you think there are no more "Master Tapes" floating around the Internet, all of a sudden you get a "Bon Jovi-ism"; "Hey Mister D.J. can you listen to my song?"
So I gave it a listen.

I want to thank "Beatles Instrumentals and More" for providing me with a bunch of new "Giraldi" "Peanuts" 5.1 soundtracks. With 99% of the fx in the (C)enter channel, the Lf and Rf tracks are near pristene; I only had to do minimal editting. (I discarded the Ls and Rs since they were copies of the Front with echoes)
And as always, thanks to Derrick Bang for providing the "Use Sheets" containing the track names.

This soundtrack contains an early version of "The Red Baron Theme" with odd flat notes. While the episode introduced us to the new character "Peppermint Patty", Vince Guaraldi had fun "noodling" with the original "Peppermint Patty Theme" and 4 versions of "Psychiatric Vamp".

Finally, Vince Guaraldi scored an "A" with 4 different versions of the title track "You're In Love, Charlie Brown", each take with slightly different instruments! And lets not forget the vocal version, sung by the "West Hillsborough School Choir".

So give this soundtrack a serious listen. I'm sure you'll find some real gems here.
Enjoy!
