UPS AND DOWNS | Yeat - LYFESTYLE First Reaction

Yeat has finally released his long-awaited new hiphop and rap album, "LYFESTYLE". This album is his second full-length project of the year, with "2093" dropping this year as well. Yeat is one of the most intriguing and interesting active artists right now, so of course Music Over Matter had to record their first listen and first reaction to the project. He is known for his experimental sounds, almost like a lo-fi sounding take on rap. Overall, the album is decent at best unfortunately. It has all the elements of a great Yeat project, like the dark and loud beats, strange vocal effects, and just overall good sound. However, many of the songs feel like they came up short, and there just was nothing special about them. With that said, there were a few that clearly were more experimental, and those tracks were great. And just like other Yeat albums, the quality control is an issue, with the tracklist being too long in full, and many filler tracks. Some of the best and notable songs include, "SPEEDBALL", "ORCHESTRATE", "GONE 4 A MIN", "FOREVER AGAIN", and "NEW HIGH" featuring Don Toliver.
