About The Top-Down Icelandic Sweater

Knit along with international designer Ragga Eiríksdóttir as she teaches you how to create your own traditional Icelandic knit sweater from the top down. Work her Maren design almost entirely in the round and then transform your warm wool pullover into a fun cardigan with a secure steek.

Ragga takes you on a journey into Icelandic culture as she knits, sharing stories from her country and its rich textile history. Pick up tips on using lopi yarn from Icelandic sheep, and get inspired by examples of other unique yoke patterns.

As you create your lopapeysa you will learn techniques on how to shape, steek, and stylize your sweater with decorative ribbon and buttons. You may even pick up a few words in Icelandic!
